Examples

It’s often a great start to create a setup in which two machines provide for storage in an active/passive failover. An interconnecting module assures the integrity of the data. Whenever a problem would occur with the active machine, a failover automatically takes place, turning the passive machine into an active machine. This solution however is not scalable. Although extra machines can be added, they will only add redundancy and not boost performance, while also being required to be placed in close vicinity to one another.

If the demand for scalability and performance exceeds this configuration, SAN solutions are our preferred option. This allows for an even better safeguard of both integrity and availability by adding double controllers or even geographically separated configurations. A common extra option is the addition of back-up modules which are able to create data snapshots, hence providing for an extra security in your back-up integrity.
